For the second course, there are three dishes: Chicken ‘N’ Watermelon ‘N’ Waffles (protein), Macaroni & Cheese (pasta), and Butter Lettuce & Grilled Mango Salad (greens).
Chicken ‘N’ Watermelon ‘N’ Waffles ($45) is one of the restaurant’s signature dishes and comes in a large plate of juicy fried chicken served with cubes of chilled, spiced watermelon and Vermont sharp cheddar cheese waffle. Pair the chicken with some honey hot sauce if you want to increase the spiciness level, and pour a generous portion of their unique bourbon maple syrup onto the waffles to add an extra dimension of taste to this delicious dish.
The Macaroni & Cheese ($14) offers a smaller serving but is no less tasty. Cheese lovers will enjoy the blend of five artisanal cheeses used to create the strikingly flavourful pasta dish with a crispy herb crust on top.
As for the Butter Lettuce & Grilled Mango Salad ($18), char-grilled mango, smoked pecans, red onions, and tomatoes are tossed with benne seed vinaigrette and served on some fresh greens to form this colourful dish. The light and fresh ingredients make this a wonderful option for those looking for a healthier alternative in a restaurant specialising in hearty Southern cuisine.
There are two options for dessert: Cafe Creme Brûlée or Banana Pudding. I chose the Banana Pudding ($14) which is made using fresh bananas, the pudding placed on top of Rum-soaked banana cake, covered with chantilly cream, and topped with a vanilla wafer. The Bird’s banana pudding stands out to me among others due to its smooth creaminess and strong fruit taste. Truly a sweet note to end an enjoyable night out.
For those looking for some alcohol, try the Sub-Zero Floral Aviation. They subliminate dry ice with Lavender water to create a scented fog to accompany the Floral Aviation which makes for a pretty cool visual experience. The Floral Aviation itself is comprised of Lavender Gin, Marugotu Shibori Yuzu, Maraschino Liquer, and Creme de Violette, resulting in a pleasantly sweet drink.

Well, actually Chicken ‘N’ Watermelon ‘N’ Waffles ($45) is some expensive to me…
The Macaroni & Cheese ($14) and the Banana Pudding ($14) would be good.. By the way, there is no barbecue, one of my favorites.. Hum..
Always, Thanks for sharing, Bino. 🙂
