However, in the 90s onwards, Ipoh experienced less development (which may be good for some people) as compared to other cities and towns in the country. The location is not that attractive for business investment as it is far from KL and Penang abd also quute s distance from port. It is surrounded by hilly areas thus limiting the expansion space. Many Perakian leave for KL and Penang for better jobs.
