When I am in Singapore and want to switch things up mainly for the convenience of shopping; my default hotel after the Ritz Carlton Millenia is the Grand Hyatt at Scotts Rd. As we normally stay at the club suites of either establishment; THE GESTURE OF ADDRESSING on by ones Given name ranks up there with basic human kindness. At the Grand Hyatt the added bonus were the receptionists at the Club lounge. Id been taken with the duvets they have at our suite, and I assume all the rooms; I mentioned this anecdotal and the receptionists (yes two of them attended to us seeing as I my 2 children and their nanny accompanied us during this sojourn- which was purely that- a rest. Anyway, they said that it would be no burden for them to order me the duvets and charge it to my bill. And so I did order a bakers dozen, and as proffered they were added on to our bill. Hotels that rely on the Physicality of their offering should not lose sight that ultimately- we are Their Guests. Patrons indeed and in fact. The HOW THEY TREATED YOU REMAINS LONG AFTER ANY OTHER ONE THING. ITS HOW THEY MADE YOU FEEL- IN BOTH THESE ESTABLISHMENTs my descriptive would be- “welcome back Mr. Jules” the JUMEIRAH GROUP IS LIKEWISE SO DISPOSED, and offcourse the Grand Dame of them all in South East Asia- the Peninsula HK-SIR.
