Hi there! Yes, prices for Parkroyal Pickering used to be higher but has moderated somewhat. I believe now you will find that this property and the Pickering are now comparable in price.
The Marina Bay property is relatively new and is indeed quite stylish and is convenient (there’s a shopping mall downstairs).

I’m considering this hotel for a 7 or 8 night stay together with my wife in the autumn – her first visit to Singapore though not mine (we’re from the UK). I’d always wanted to stay at the ParkRoyal Pickering hotel, but the prices for that are so much higher than for this one. (Any idea why that is?) We’re looking for somewhere stylish, restful and central; your review suggests that this will hit the mark. We’re both retired, btw.
