Afternoon teas have only increased in popularity following the new normal as more folks take it slow and focus more on personal wellness. 

In this article, I try to show all the updated afternoon tea offerings at the moment. Afternoon tea sets tend to get refreshed every few months so without further ado, these are the promotions you can check out this month.

As WFH becomes less common, afternoon teas are reverting to their original place as mainly weekend affairs so it is advisable to book ahead if you wish to come on a Saturday or Sunday.

Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore

*Top Pick for a Filling Afternoon Tea Buffet* The high tea at J65 in Hotel Jen Tanglin Singapore can probably substitute as a late lunch (it starts from 12:30PM every Saturday and Sunday) given that it is served in a buffet format and includes heavier mains such as Chicken Rendang, Oxtail Stew, Herb Roasted Chicken with Buttered Vegetables and more. These dishes are interspersed with more common afternoon tea delights like Nyonya Kueh Pie Tee, Quiche, a variety of sandiwches and cakes. The only downside to this format is that you don’t get to feel like a tai tai sitting with a 3-tier stand. Note that some of the dishes may be altered during festive periods.

Ibis Singapore Bencoolen

*Value Deal* Taste Restaurant at Ibis Singapore Bencoolen presents what is probably the cheapest afternoon tea that you can get in a hotel. Their 3-tier high tea set consists of sweets and savories such as Chef’s Signature Laksa, Summer Crumble Berries Cake, Durian Cream Puffs, Prawn Kueh Pie Tee and 2 servings of coffee or tea. In total, there are 22 items in their afternoon tea!

Mercure Singapore Bugis

Royale at Mercure Singapore Bugis’ high tea set consists of Japanese-themed light bites and this theme will continue til end-2024. The selection includes Aburi Mentaiko Gyoza and Shiitake Mushroom Quiche. The sweets are no less decadent. You can expect the likes of the Matcha Cheese Cake in shot glass, as well as freshly baked Earl Grey Scones, served alongside homemade berries confiture and clotted cream.

Capitol Kempinski Hotel

The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore presents a Garden and Lake afternoon tea comprising intricately crafted courses. Treats include Flower Beets Mousseline Tart, Foie Gras Terrine, Wagyu Striploin on Brioche Toast and more. In total there are 15 courses.

Conrad Singapore Orchard

The Tea Lounge’s afternoon tea is served in 2 formats. During weekdays, it is served in a 3-tier stand. During weekends, diners are treated to a buffet style assortment. The 3-tier stand features quintessential Asian and Western treats such as various kinds of finger sandwiches, quiches, tiramisu, meringue tarts and more. You’ll also get to sample the hotel’s highly popular Hibiscus and Cranberry Scone as well as their Classic Scone. During weekends, the spread includes Beef Tenderloin, Beef Wellington, Ocean King Prawn Congee with Meatball, Chicken Siew Mai, Pineapple Tamarind Meringue Tart and more.

PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay

Portman’s Bar at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay is offering their chocoholic bliss afternoon tea set which will last well until 4th July. Indulge in chocolate themed savory treats, such as Caprese Tart, Camembert Cheese, Crepe, Waffle Basket and delightful sweets such as Framboise Flower Pot, Urban Farm Banana Tartlet and more.

M Hotel

Tea Bar’s afternoon tea is a delightful nostalgic tiffin set. One can indulge in local inspired sweet delights including Almond Lychee Kadaifi, Lemon Longan Scone with Chicken Floss, Pulut Hitam Savarin and more. Savories include the Miniature Nasi Lemak Euphoria, Golden Sand Charcoal Batter Fish Bites. For a timely caffeine fix that’ll round off the afternoon on an energetic mood, choose between the barista coffee or tea or indulge in a Strawberry Cheesecake Mocktail.

The Fullerton Hotel

The Traditional Afternoon Tea experience at The Fullerton Hotel is served in the lobby and stays true to the British ritual with a classic assortment of finely cut sandwiches and delicate pastries. Until 30th June, The Fullerton Hotel will be offering its “With Love, From the Tropics” afternoon tea set featuring the likes of Mango Mimosa and other sweet and savory treats that incorporate tropical fruits such as passionfruit and mango. On selected days, you can also catch a live harp performance with the high-ceiling atrium filled with melodious tunes.

Fullerton Bay Hotel

Sit back and enjoy a round of afternoon tea with sublime views of Marina Bay. The Landing Point is offering the “With Love, From the Tropics” afternoon tea similar to the one at The Fullerton Hotel until 30th June.

Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre

Window on the Park at Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre has one of the more underrated afternoon teas in Singapore. I have personally tried it and despite the relatively affordable price tag, I found nibbling through the three-tier stand to be a rather enjoyable affair. Until end-June 2024, they are offering the Chocohaven tea set which features a series of chocolate-inspired treats. Highlights include Pomegranate Pistachio Chocolate De Crème Pot and Valrhona Chocolate Hazelnut Feuilletine Bar. The scones are also studded with chocolate chips. This is a halal-certified afternoon tea.

Conrad Centennial Singapore

Add a little sweetness to your dining experience with Conrad Centennial Singapore’s Lobby Lounge’s Language of Flowers Afternoon Tea which draws inspiration from various floral themes. Each item, whether sweet or savory, is inspired by a flower. Highlights include Sakura Mousse with Raspberry Jam, Osmanthus Jelly with Osmanthus Cream and Lavender Cream Puff. The set also includes a welcome drink and plain and raisin scones. The tea selection comprises a wide variety from TWG while coffee comes from Bacha.

InterContinental Singapore

The Lobby Lounge at InterContinental Singapore has 3 types of afternoon tea sets available. The first is their seasonal classic afternoon tea offering. Until 28th July, they are offering the Celestial Bird’s Nest Afternoon Tea featuring the likes of Snow Bird’s Nest and Caramel Apple Choux, Blood Bird’s Nest Blackberry Tartlet and more. The second type is their Vegan Afternoon Tea.

The higher tier Heritage Royal Luxury Afternoon Tea on the other hand, comes with a glass of champagne as a standard inclusion. Light bites include Ayam Buah Keluak Crostini, Caviar and Smoked Salmon Pumpernickel and Chilli Lobster Sandwich tucked in a mini roll with crushed peanuts. The sweet selection includes Gold Dusted Ondeh Ondeh Cake, a light kaya sponge with coconut mousse and caramel gula melaka; Gold Leaf Banana Genoa, topped with sweetened coconut cream and gold leaf; and Hazelnut Praline Tart.

Hilton Singapore Orchard

Ginger.Lily at Hilton Singapore Orchard presents a unique Nikkei-inspired afternoon tea, with a menu drawing from Peruvian-Japanese sensibilities. This is one filling afternoon tea with pretty substantial savory items such as 3 kinds of nigiris – foie gras, tuna and white fish as well as a Kurobuta Pork Sando and Shishamo Bun. That does not even include the sweets yet. Confections include the Matcha & Sudachi, Japanese Mango Cheesecake, Muscat Anise Shortcake and more.

Four Seasons Singapore

Until 28th July, One Ninety Bar at Four Seasons Singapore is offering its Peranakan afternoon tea with selected savories and sweets by Candlenut. Highlights include Laksa Crab Cake, Mom’s Chicken Curry, Boston Lobster with Achar Bun, Kueh Salat and more. The set also includes a beguiling inclusion of Rempah Udang-flavored scones.

Andaz Singapore

Alley on 25 at Andaz Singapore presents a botanic-themed afternoon tea. Indulge in an array of sweet and savory goodies, with some of the herbs and spices used here coming directly from the hotel’s own roof garden. Highlights in this tea set include the Chrysanthemum Choux, Mini Cactus, Chitose Melon Bingsu and more. The afternoon tea also comes with free flow tea and coffee and they provide non-dairy options for lattes. Coffee is from Lavazza while tea is from TWG.
